March Effect Accounting year Ending Effect on Sensex From 2002 to 2010
Is there any march or Finacial year ending Effect on Sensex ?

On 28Feb 2002 Sensex was at 3562 In march it fell to 3462
On 28 feb 2003 Sensex was at 3283 but in march 2003 it took a Dip and Fell to 3048.72
In 2004 Feb Sensex monthly Closing was at 5667 and in march it Slightly Declined to 5590
In 2005 Feb monthly Closing was at 6713 Again Sensex took a Dip in march 2005 and Fell to 6492
In 2006 Feb Sensex was at 10370 this year Sensex Zoomed to 11280 at the end of march 2006
In 2007Feb Saw a big Fall and it closed at 12938 in Feb as Compared to closing of 14090 in Jan.So March 2007 Saw slight recovery and Sensex Closed at 13072.
In 2008 Slide Started From january.Feb 2008 monthly Closing was at 17578 And in march it Slid to 15644 A Fall of nearly 200 points.
2009 was good Exception.monthly Closing of Sensex was at 8891 in Feb 2009.While march Monthly Closing was at 9708.
So in 2006 2007 and 2009 Sensex increased in march .2007 Was a Slight increase only.
So 6 times out of 9 Sensex has Fallen in march .
What’s the reason of this phenomenon?
People book losses in March to Start on Clean Slate in April .
